The NAT feature (Software Router) is available in both Standard and Pro version.
A zero-configuration in any client computer is possible if you also use a DHCP server* (No IP assignment, no DNS and default
Gateway). No need to setup your browser, email software, etc....
In the gateway, do the following:
- Assign an IP and netmask (but no default gateway) to the local network card in Windows network properties. This is the ip address the proxy server will only listen to. Usually this ip is 192.168.0.1 .
- Enable NAT, DHCP* in the proxy server by using the Configuration Wizard.
If you are using DHCP*, specify Obtain an IP address automatically in the local network properties in any client computer.
If you have a previous version of Comsocks or Comtun before the August of 2002, your license key will not work for this version. You will need to upgrade to a new key. We recommend you uninstall the previous version first before you install the new version (you need to reboot your system after the uninstallation and make sure that all files under the original installation directory have been deleted). Please see How to Upgrade.
