DHCP Server*
- click Daemons Tab
- highlight the DHCP daemon, and click Configuration button
- please verify that the proxy IP address of the gateway in your local network (i.g. 192.168.0.1.) appears in the list.
If it is not, you need to remove the old one and add a new one. You can have
multiple PROXY IP : PORT lines if your gateway connects to multiple local
networks (your gateway has multiple network interface cards). Don't use the IP address from the Internet.
- check the proxy port number is 67 for DHCP (do not change this number to other value).
- click Advanced button for the DHCP settings ( Requiring IE 4.0 or above on this host).
- in the IP Address Range, fill in your starting IP address and the ending IP
address for the local client computers. Any IP address in this range will be
allocated to the client dynamically when the client contacts the server for its IP.
For examples, the starting address is 192.168.0.2 and the ending address is
192.168.0.100.
- if you select option “Verify that newly allocated addresses are not already in
use”, ComSocks DHCP server will try to use an ICMP message to probe a possible
IP collision with another client with the same IP.
- if you want the client to use the allocated IP forever, please select option
“Unlimited IP Address Lease Time”. Any allocated IP won’t be expired and is
occupied by the client infinitely. Otherwise, you should uncheck this option and
fill in the box “IP Address Lease Time”. Client computers may try to extend or
renew its lease before this time is expired.
- please check “Use This Host as Client’s Gateway”. You may be able to specify a
list of gateway IP addresses.
- please check “Use This Host as Client’s DNS Server”. You may be able to
specify a list of DNS servers.
- click OK to accept the settings for every dialog box.
- highlight the daemon again and click Enable button to enable the service.
- This feature may not be available in all ComSocks versions.
