IMAP4 Email

The following information is only necessary if you are using a traditional proxy server. If using NAT, you don’t need to configure these.

Internet Message Access Protocol rev.4 (IMAP4) has defined a better email mechanism than POP3 protocol. ComSocks can be configured to accommodate this requirement from the Internet community. You will do this by adding a new Port Mapping:

Port Mapping’s Name	:	IMAP4 Port Mapping
Proxy IP Address: Proxy Port	:	gateway_ip : 143
Destination Name or IP	:	IMAP4 server name or IP, i.g. imap.isp.net
Destination Port	:	143
Messages come from sender’s Port	:	0
Proxy server uses this Port to send messages	:	0
Transport	:	tcp
Rule	:	general
Bi-directional UDP mapping	:	[blank]
