Port Mapping
- click Port Mapping tab. This is an advanced feature which enables you to map
the remote host/port to a local port on the gateway computer. You will use this
feature to configure Newsgroup or Internet game proxy.
- click Add button to add a port mapping into the list.
- enter any name into <Port Mapping’s Name>, i.g. Newsgroups Port Mapping
- choose the local IP address of this computer from the <Proxy IP Address> drop-down list.
- enter a proxy monitor port number into the <Proxy Port> box, i.g. 119 for Newsgroups (NNTP protocol).
- click Add button to add this IP:PORT into the list.
- enter destination IP or name into <Destination Name or IP>, i.g. my ISP’s news
server name (news.my_isp.net).
- enter <Destination Port>, i.g. 119 for Newsgroups.
- enter 0 into <Messages come from sender’s Port>
- enter 0 into <Proxy server uses this Port>
- choose your transport protocol, i.g. tcp or udp.
- check <Bi-directional UDP mapping> if you want ComSocks receives any UDP reply
messages. It is required by some Internet games.
- click OK to accept the settings.
- highlight the port mapping again and click Enable button to enable the service.
