LapLink 2000*
Note: This configuration is designed to work with version 3.01 of ComSocks using NAT. If you are using an
earlier version, please download and install version 3.01.
This configuration is used to allow a LapLink Client computer on the internet connect to a LapLink host
situated behind a ComSocks gateway computer. For the client to connect, it must use Connect Over -> Network.
Select the TCP/IP Addresses tab and enter the IP of the ComSocks gateway into the TCP/IP Name or
Address field. Then, clicking Ok should cause LapLink to connect. Please note that the LapLink host
will not be able to connect to LapLink's computer directory, even with this configuration.
- Open the ComSocks manager and click on the Port Mapping tab. Then, click the
Add button to configure the first port mapping
- Enter a name for this port mapping, such as LapLink
- From the Proxy IP Address selection menu, please select 0.0.0.0(Any IP)
- Enter the Proxy Port 1547, and click Add
- Enter the IP of the client computer that will be using pcAnywhere into the Destination
Name or IP. In this example it is 192.168.0.12, though this may not be the case for your
network.
- Enter 1547 into the Destination Port
- Select TCP from the Transport selection menu
- Click Ok

- Click on the General tab
- Remove the check from Use this proxy IP for all daemons and port mapping
- Click Apply
