Make sure you have enabled SOCKS and DNS daemon in ComSocks.
- Click the ICQ button in the ICQ main window and select Preferences
- Click Connections in the menu on the left
- Select General on the window's tabs, and select Permanent for
your connection type.
- In the section Firewall IP Settings, select ICQ will determine IP automatically
- Click on the Server tab
- Select Using Firewall and Using Proxy
- From the Proxy selection bar on the right, choose Socks 5
- Click on the Firewall tab
- Select Socks 5 under the Proxies / Firewall menu
- Enter the IP of the Gateway machine into Host and 1080 into Port
- Select Use proxy to resolve hostnames
- Click on the User tab
- Select Use server proxy settings
